With your permission, we may collect your device location, which may include precise geolocation. We use this information to:

  • show relevant people, chats, and meetups near you;
  • determine the city or area in which you are using the app;
  • improve discovery results;
  • help prevent abuse and suspicious activity;
  • enable location-sharing features when you choose to use them.

Your exact live location is not automatically displayed publicly to other users unless the app clearly shows that you are choosing to share it.

4. Legal Bases for Processing

Where applicable data-protection laws require a legal basis, we rely on one or more of the following:

  • performance of a contract: when processing is necessary to provide SmallMeets services requested by you;
  • consent: for example, when you grant location, photo-library, camera, or notification permissions;
  • legitimate interests: to secure the service, prevent abuse, improve app performance, and protect users;
  • legal obligations: when we must process or retain information to comply with applicable law;
  • protection of vital interests: in exceptional cases involving safety or emergencies.

Under European data-protection rules, consent, contractual necessity, legal obligations, vital interests, public-interest tasks, and legitimate interests may provide lawful grounds for processing personal data depending on the circumstances.

We do not sell your personal information.

We do not share personal information with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising.

If our practices change, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any legally required choices.

When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, unless retention is required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution purposes.

Messages or content already shared with other users may remain visible to those users where deletion is technically impossible or where retention is reasonably necessary for safety, moderation, or legal purposes.

8. Account Deletion

You may initiate deletion of your SmallMeets account from inside the app:

Settings → Account → Delete Account

You may also request assistance by emailing:

info@smallmeets.com

Deleting the app from your device does not automatically delete your account.

Apple requires apps that allow account creation to let users initiate account deletion from within the app. Make sure your developer implements this menu item before submission.

9. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • request access to your personal information;
  • request correction of inaccurate information;
  • request deletion of your information;
  • withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
  • object to or restrict certain processing;
  • request a portable copy of your information;
  • lodge a complaint with the relevant data-protection authority.

We may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests.

California residents may also have rights to know, delete, correct, opt out of sale or sharing, limit certain uses of sensitive personal information, and exercise these rights without discrimination where the CCPA applies.

10. International Data Transfers

SmallMeets may be available internationally. Your information may be processed in countries other than the country where you live.

Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers of personal data, such as contractual protections and other legally recognized mechanisms.

11. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect personal information.

However, no online service can guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for using caution when communicating with people you meet through SmallMeets.

12. Safety and Meeting Other Users

SmallMeets helps users connect, but we do not guarantee the identity, intentions, background, or behavior of any user.

When meeting someone for the first time:

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe that a person under 18 has created an account, contact us at info@smallmeets.com, and we will take appropriate action.

14. Device Permissions

SmallMeets may request access to:

  • location services;
  • push notifications;
  • camera;
  • photo library.

You can change these permissions at any time in your device settings. Disabling a permission may limit certain app features.

15. Third-Party Links

SmallMeets may contain links to third-party websites or services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. We are not responsible for third-party privacy practices.

16. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically.

If we make material changes, we may notify you through the app, by email, or by updating the effective date at the top of this page.
